KH Roberts was thrilled to host aspiring plant-based start-ups in our facility on 24 June 2022!
Accelerator Cohort Visit 2022, organised by Innovate 360, brings together industry experts and plant-based start-ups to discuss and learn about enhancing the taste and texture in plant-based applications like bakery, beverage and meat products.
Our Innovation manager, Mr Derrick Heng, explained the importance of using the correct flavour formats on specific applications. For example, a liquid water-soluble flavour will not work as well in instant beverage pre-mix as it would in Ready-to-Drink beverages. Participants also had the opportunity to taste plant-based meat and dairy, incorporated with KH Roberts’s aroma and taste solutions.
Participants also had the opportunity to watch the extruder in live action, and learnt about how plant-based meat analogues achieve different textures through the utilisation of different extruder screw shapes and processing parameters.
